•Almost 80% of the City’s higher paying administrative and managerial job positions are held by Whites. While Blacks, Latinos and Asians make up 37%, 16% and 4% respectively of the city’s workforce, they only account collectively for 19% of the total senior and executive staff of city agencies.

•The informal sector, which is characterized by exploitative working conditions and very few labor protections, is composed predominantly of people of color.

• An overwhelming 95% of domestic workers are people of color, 99% are foreign-born, and 93% are women.

Arturo Perez Saad Tango for Labor Rights

Hola! Welcome to my Tango for Labor Rights website. Thanks for your support! As a passionate advocate for immigrants and workers' rights, I have always followed HRP’s work because it is one of the very few human rights groups that can bring together organizations with different perspectives openly and with respect. HRP is committed to leading the New York City Human Rights Initiative (NYCHRI) and for years through this Initiative they have educated advocates and elected officials about the need to implement higher human rights standards to advance equality for NYC's working class.

As an enthusiastic dancer who is passionate of all types of dance including Cha-cha-cha, Swing, Salsa and Zydeco , I am taking this tango competition very seriously. The exceptional tango instructor Lexa Rosean, 2008 United States Argentine Tango Stage Champion, is helping me with my performance. But I need your help to achieve my goal to raise $500. Please meet my wonderful partner Maria.  You can support me donating online or you can also donate by check payable to: The Urban Justice Center (please write “Arturo Perez-Saad” in the memo section) and send to:
