•Black and Latino neighborhoods have been used as dumping grounds for decades. According to a landmark study, Toxic Wastes and Race in the United States, published by the Commission for Racial Justice, three out of five African Americans and Latinos live in communities with one or more toxic waste sites.

•This pattern is similar in NYC, where the waste transfer system results in negative health impacts borne disproportionately by populations of color in the South Bronx and Brooklyn.

Sydney Pringle Tango for Environmental Rights

Hi there! Welcome to my Tango for Environmental Rights website. Thanks for your support! My dad is a big environmentalist who taught me to respect nature because without it, we would have nothing.  I am a strong believer in the right to a healthy environment. I also understand that in order to enjoy a healthy environment, we need to exercise other rights like the right to health and the right to housing. The Human Rights Project does a wonderful job educating us in how all rights are interconnected, and if we want to fulfill them we need to demand all of them! Thanks for your generous support and for believing in this great cause!

In order to learn to tango, I am being trained by the amazing tango dancer Lexa Rosean, 2008 United States Argentine Tango Stage Champion to improve my performance. My goal is to raise $500. To support me and my wonderful partner Jagdish you may donate online and purchase tickets here. You can also donate by check payable to: The Urban Justice Center (please write “Sydney Pringle” in the memo section) and send to:
